Merck India buys Sanmar biz in Bangalore
Sanmar Group informed the market about sale of its Banglore arm BGIP( Bangalore Genei Ind.) to Merck India. BGIP generated Rs 20.2 crore revenues in 2009 fiscal.
Bangalore Genei is India’s leading company in the field of biotechnology based reagents and it will find a good parent in Merck with its extremely strong market presence worldwide and successful business history.
The acquisition was through Merck’s wholly-owned subsidiary in India, Merck Specialities Pvt Ltd.
