MFs invest 28% in top 10 blue-chip companies

Mutual Funds Manages are playing safe and invests 28% of their total investment in top 10 companies of the stock market. By this they want to ensure their performance in the line of overall market. Out of their total investment of Rs 143,860 cr, they invests as much as Rs 40,246 cr in just top 10 scrips and these blue chips are Reliance Industries, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India (SBI), ICICI Bank, Infosys Technologies , Larsen & Toubro (L&T ), Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and HDFC Bank.

The 10 frontline stocks ( BLUE CHIPS ) have high weightage in the Sensex. Their cumulative weightage is around 59% in the Sensex in terms of market capitalisation.
