Maruti Suzuki makes highest ever monthly sales in Jan 2010
Maruti Suzuki is India’s leading automobile car manufacturing company. The company is the largest automobile manufacturer in South Asia. Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 95649 vehicles in January 2010. This is 33% increase in sales in comparison to the same month of January 2009. The company had sold 67005 vehicles in the domestic market in January 2009.
India’s no.1 car maker’s domestic sales had risen 21% in January to 81000 vehicles, while its exports had risen three fold to more than 14562, bringing its total sales to 95649, its best ever sales performance in a single month.
In expectation of continued growth in the Indian car market, Maruti Suzuki will invest Rs 1700 crores in new facilities at its Manesar plant to increase an annual output to 550000 units from the current 300000 units.
