Maruti Suzuki is India’s number 1 car manufacturing company. The company is the largest automobile manufacturer in South Asia. Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 1,21,295 vehicles in March 2011. This is 28.20% increase in sales in comparison to the same month of March 2010. The company had sold 95,123 vehicles in the month of March 2010.
India’s no.1 car maker’s FY10-11 sales had risen 24.81% to 12,71,005 vehicles from 10,18,365 vehicles in the previous fiscal FY09-10.
Domestic sales for the March 2011 38.85% to 1,10,424 vehicles from 79,530 vehicles while exports for the same fell down by 26.07% to 11,528 vehicles from 15,593 vehicles in the year-ago period.
The sales of model M800 rose by 5.54% to 2,915 vehicles from 2,762 vehicles in March, 2010. The A2 segment (comprising Alto, WagonR, Estilo, Swift, A-Star and Ritz) witnessed 43.27% growth in sales to 78,460 vehicles from 54,762 vehicles in the same month a year ago.
