Power Finance Corporation had entered the primary market with their first tranche of Tax Saving Infra Bonds of Rs 5000 each and minimum investment was 1 bond atleast. The issue was open on 29th September 2011 and was available for for subscription upto 4th November 2011. Power finance corporation (PFC), is a Govt Of India undertaking institute engaged in project finance of power and energy sector.PFC is actively engaged in finance of power pants,Hydroelectric and wind energy plants and various projects envolving generation,distribution and transmission as well as for renovation & modernization of existing power plants,along with consulting assignments of power sector. The company has loan book of over Rs 1,040.50 billion with 84% of the loans to generation sector.
