Google India : Sued by Consim Info

The Chennai-based company Consim Info Pvt Ltd, which owns popular Web sites like Bharatmatrimony.com and Tamilmatrimony.com, has filed a suit in the Madras High Court seeking a permanent injunction restraining Google India Pvt Ltd along with three others from using its trademarks and domain names.

The Chennai-based company also sought damages of Rs10.05 lakh from Google and other three respondents – People Interactive Pvt Ltd, Jeevansathi Internet Services Pvt Ltd and Times Business Solutions – for infringing and/or passing off and/or for enabling others to infringe and/or pass off the trademarks and domain names. The case was filed under Sections 27, 28, 29, 134 and 135 of the Trademarks Act, 1999.
