GVK Power and Infra bags order worth Rs 3200 crores

GVK Power and Infrastructure Limited is engaged in construction of railway infrastructure, roads, highways, bridges and irrigation projects in India. The company has informed the market(BSE) that they received an order a construction contract for its 800 MW gas-based power project to a consortium of South Korea’s Hyundai Engineering and Larsen & Toubro. GVK Power, which is installing a 800 MW power project in the state of Andhra Pradesh has tied up land, water and other requirements, and expects the plant to be operational in the first quarter of 2013. GVK Power and Infrastructure already owns and operates 915 MW gas-based power plants in Andhra Pradesh located close to Krishna-Godavari basin. The cost of this order is Rs 3200 crores.
