Bharti Airtel Q3 FY11 Results : Net profit declines 20.08%

Bharti Airtel Limited has posted a steep drop in net profit for the period Q3 (ending Dec 10) of the current fiscal (FY10-11). During the said quarter, net profit declines 20.08% to Rs 1047.80 crores in comparison to Rs 2312.10 crores of Q3 (ending Dec 09) of previous year (FY09-10). Bharti Airtel Limited, usually referred to simply as “airtel”, is a Indian telecommunications company that operates in 19 countries across South Asia, Africa and the Channel Islands. Airtel is the fifth largest telecom operator in the world with over 207.8 million subscribers across 19 countries at the end of 2010.

The company has informed the share market (BSE/NSE) that the total income rose 9.23% to Rs 9563.70 crore in Q3 (ending Dec 2010) of the current fiscal (FY10-11) when compared with the same quarter Q3 (ending Dec 2009) of previous year (FY09-10). Total income was Rs 8755.45 crores in last year’s quarter Q3.
