Bharti Airtel Limited has posted a steep drop in net profit for the period Q4 (ending Mar 11) of the current fiscal (FY10-11). During the said quarter, net profit declines 31.49% to Rs 1400.7 crores in comparison to Rs 2044.4 crores of Q4 (ending Mar 10) of previous year (FY09-10). Bharti Airtel Limited, usually referred to simply as “airtel”, is a Indian telecommunications company that operates in 19 countries across South Asia, Africa and the Channel Islands. Airtel is the fifth largest telecom operator in the world with over 207.8 million subscribers across 19 countries at the end of 2010.
The company has informed the share market (BSE/NSE) that the total income rose 51.38% to Rs 16304.2 crore in Q4 (ending Mar 2011) of the current fiscal (FY10-11) when compared with the same quarter Q4 (ending Mar 2010) of previous year (FY09-10). Total income was Rs 10770.5 crores in last year’s quarter Q4.
