Tata Steel, the world’s eighth-largest steel maker, informed the market on 7th Oct 09 that steel sales from its Indian operations rose 19 per cent in Q2 (July-September) from a year earlier.

Similarly if we see the sales for the first half of the current financial year (April-September) the steel sales rose 21 per cent from a year ago.

Tata Steel’s annual global capacity is 30 million tonnes and the Indian operations account for about a quarter of that. The group’s total annual global capacity includes Corus production, which is second-largest steelmaker of Europe.

Tata Steel’s CMP is Rs 533.
