Pune-based Bajaj Auto Limited has achieved a new high with highest ever annual sales in FY 10-11. In almost all the segment of its products the company made a new high. Motor cycles sales gone to 3387040 units in FY 2010-11 while it was 2506791 units in FY 2009-10, it is a highest ever sales in a year. Similarly commercial vehicles sales gone to 436884 units in FY 2010-11 as compared to 340937 units in FY 2009-10. Companie’s exports to has increased significantly to 1203718 units in current year FY 2010-11 as compared to 891002 units in FY 2009-10. Bajaj Auto is India’s second largest Auto manufacturer and the company is owned by Bajaj Family. Bajaj Auto Ltd. is engaged in the manufacture of scooters, motorcycles and three-wheeler vehicles and spare parts thereof. Bajaj Auto has plants located at Mumbai-Pune Road, Akurdi, Pune and Bajaj Nagar, Waluj, Aurangabad.
The motorcycles sales was 274389 units in March 2011, a growth of 12% compared to 244870 units in March 2010. The bigger & sportier Pulsar & Discover brands were 71% of total motorcycle sales.
The company has completed the enhanced 3-wheeler capacity of 45000 per month. The commercial vehicles sales was at 33349 in March 2011 as compared to 29345 in March 2010.
