Increase in market valuations for 8 among the top 10 heavy weight companies

Total of 8 companies among the top 10 most valued companies over the BSE INDEX has added about Rs.85,929 crores as a market capitalization last week in the mid cap segment. RIL and ONGC were among the top performers over the index last week stealing the show. ONGC surged its worth by Rs 16,427 crore to Rs 2,43,489 crore among the strong market that saw Sensex gain 6% during the week.

TCS jumped its market cap from Rs 13,975 crore to Rs 2,19,140 crore, whereas value of the second biggest IT company Infosys is now at Rs 1,64,201 crore from Rs 7,863 crore.
Coming to the coal sector Coal India ‘s market-cap rose to Rs 2,13,524 crore after it added Rs 5,811 crore more. IN the MCG segment ITC saw the market cap spurge to Rs 1,67,236 crore from Rs 8,939 crore. Looking at the telecom segment Bharti Airtel saw addition of Rs 4,709 crore which took its valuation to Rs 1,48,217 crore.

Powering the power sector NTPC saw its market capitalization climbing from Rs 7,709 crore to Rs 1,47,263 crore.  However in the banking segment SBI and private banks such as HDFC Bank saw decrease in their market value. SBI’s market value fell by Rs 2,641 crore to Rs 1,21,094 crore, whereas HDFC Bank saw a decrease of Rs 888 crore to Rs 1,12,687 crore.

Bell the bull says: The markets have shown a positive trend in the last week which is estimated to continue over the markets this week.
